Your BU Crowdfunding project page works as your main landing page. Here, you should post content that helps tell your story. You must include information about why you are fundraising and how the money will be used.

  • It will be the main landing page for your project.
  • Your audience will make all donations through the page.
  • The share wizard on the page provides a streamlined way for you and other leaders of the project to share the campaign with your community.

Building a successful project outline

  • Lead with a strong story. Your project should have a clear, compelling story that motivates your volunteers to share it with their communities.
  • Be transparent about how the donated funds will be used. The more specific you are, the better. You cannot provide these funds to another company, nonprofit, or other entity outside of Boston University.
  • Own the marketing of your project. The success of your project depends on your team’s commitment to promoting it. The Annual Giving team will provide you with the necessary resources to help you promote your project.
  • Set a realistic goal. Typically, crowdfunding projects aim to raise between $1,000 and $10,000.
  • Duration: A project should be able to meet its goal in two weeks to one month.
