The National Society of Black Engineers Fall Regional Conference is geared towards connecting various NSBE chapters at Syracuse University from November 10-13 2023. During the conference, students are given the opportunity to network and grow professionally through various workshops and a career fair. The main goal is to give NSBE members the opportunity to learn more about themselves, each others, and various career opportunities that may await them.
Being able to send members to this event will advance our organization's mission of promoting professional success. Additionally, the conference will allow our members to further bond with each other and develop a greater sense of community.
These donations will be used to pay for transportation, hotel stay, and registration costs for 40 members.
The National Society of Black Engineers National Convention is a conference that is geared towards connecting NSBE chapters at Kansas City, Missouri from March 22-26 2023. Much like the regional conference, the National Convention is an event where BU's black engineering community can meet with other universities' black engineering communities and employers from all around the United States. The National Convention is, however, on a grander scale with hundreds of companies attending. In fact, some of our members were able to connect with employers at the 48th NSBE National Convention at Anaheim, California this year. As a result, they were able to get internships at renowned companies, such as Pfizer. We hope to continue this success at next year's convention by having the funds to send even more students (40 members). That will be possible through your donations.
Just like the Fall Regional Conference, we will need donations to subsidize the costs of transportation, hotel, and registration costs for 40 members.
Why are donations necessary?
Our club works hard as hard as we can to bring as many members to the national convention as we can, but we do not receive funding from the university. While we do commit time toward asking for more funding from the university, we still do not adequate funds to afford the conference and bring as many members as we want to.
