Description
We are a team of LGBTQ+ people of color and allies committed to elevating the voices of our communities. We are creating a free-of-cost open-access book that highlights the oral histories and black and white photographs of seven Latinx gay and trans men. These men share their experiences with mental health, discrimination, and joy while living at the U.S./Mexico border region. The pictures were taken by a local photographer. The pictures are in black and white to represent how the colors of the rainbow are often absent for so many of us: we are frequently invisible in the shadows of our communities. Each narrative will include questions for communities and educators to use and foster conversations that can break cycles of discrimination and improve mental health and joy among LGBTQ+ community members. Our goal is to get our communities to see us as our full selves and contribute to our joy.

Why are donations necessary?
We want to make this book accessible to everyone by making it downloadable free-of-cost through the Boston University Library website. That means that unlike other books that may make a profit for its development, we need your support to financially make this book possible.
